Concert of the FCS Orchestra on Victory Day
A concert of the symphony orchestra of the Federal Customs Service (FCS of Russia), dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day, took place at Domodedovo International Airport.
50 musicians and vocalists performed in front of Domodedovo passengers and employees at the Airport's International Departures Terminal. Mr Andrey Kolyasnikov is the orchestra's chief conductor, winner of the All–Russian Competition, and a conductor of the Moscow Philharmonic Society. The orchestra is headed by Ms Yana Annenkova, a winner of the Stravinsky International Competition and of the Sverdlovsk Region Governor's Award for high achievements, a conductor of the highest category.
The FCS orchestra and vocalists performed various works for more than an hour: from academic numbers (Tchaikovsky's "Slavic March") and opera (Violetta's aria from Verdi's La Traviata) to modern days music (Katyusha and Victory Day songs). At the end of 2025, the orchestra received a symphonic status and expanded the composition of instruments - violins, violas, cellos, double bass, bassoon, oboe and French horns were added.
Domodedovo Customs officers performed the "Victory Waltz" as a tribute to the heroic past of our country, symbolizing the unity of generations. This dance has been performed on the eve of Victory Day on the 9th of May by Domodedovo customs officers since 2023 and has become a landmark tradition of the aviation harbour, to which 142 participants of World War 2 linked their fate and careers in the post-war period.
