Domodedovo is ready to operate in challenging winter conditions
Domodedovo International Airport is ready to operate in challenging winter conditions. To ensure the smooth operation of flights operated by partner airlines during the winter season, 71 units of automotive and special equipment are going to be deployed.
Wide‑sweeping brush machines, rotary snow blowers, chemical reagent distributors, combined snow‑removal vehicles, and other machines will be used to clean the airfield surfaces.
The airport has established a non‑depletable reserve of 500,000 litres of de‑icing fluids of various types, more than 900 tonnes of anti‑icing liquids, and 500 tonnes of granular reagents. This reserve is sufficient to meet the airport’s needs for 15 days. All the products used are environmentally safe, and the waste liquid collection system minimizes their release into the environment.
The readiness of all services at Domodedovo Airport will make it possible to support the flight program on 82 routes, including two exclusive ones to the Russian Federation: Addis Ababa (Ethiopian Airlines) and Amman (Royal Jordanian).
New flights will also appear in the winter schedule: S7 Airlines will start operating flights to Turkmenbashi (three times a week), Centrum Air — to Tashkent (two flights a week), and Royal Jordanian — to Aqaba (two flights a week).
