Singapore Airlines Launches a New Flight from Domodedovo to Stockholm
May 31, 2017, Domodedovo, Moscow Region. Moscow Domodedovo Airport, ranked Russia's best airport, and Singapore Airlines have announced the launch of scheduled flights on the route Singapore (SIN) - Moscow (DME) - Stockholm (ARN) with 5 flights weekly. Singapore Airlines has been granted the fifth freedom allowing it to transport fare-paying passengers from Moscow Domodedovo Airport on the Singapore-Stockholm route.

Over the 10 years of their partnership, Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Singapore Airlines have handled more than 11,000 flights. 1.6 million travelers have been given the opportunity to discover Moscow and Singapore. Stockholm became the first Scandinavian destination with flights from Domodedovo.

Fifth freedom of air entitles the airline to carry from a state party to the air traffic treaty passengers traveling to a third state, as well as cargo and mail and to carry passengers, cargo, and mail from that third state to the state party to the treaty. Presently, scheduled flights between most states, including the Russian Federation, are governed mainly by bilateral treaties. In such treaty, the states list approved flights and exchange commercial rights that allow airlines to carry passengers, cargo, and mail. In international air law, commercial rights are classified according to their scope into several categories - the so-called freedoms of air.
