Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Qatar Airways celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of their partnership

2 August, 2019. Domodedovo, Moscow region. Qatar Airways and Moscow Domodedovo Airport commemorated fifteen years of cooperation. To celebrate the anniversary, the airline and the air hub partnered with aerospace corporation Airbus to conduct a plane spotting. Over 60 aviation photographers captured the Qatar Airways’ А350 operating its inaugural flight to Domodedovo.

«We are proud to count Qatar Airways among our partners. In 2019, the airline scooped the top award being named the World’s Best Airline for the fifth time. We are confident that new Airbus A350-900 services will attract more air travelers to start their journey with Qatar Airways at DME”, said Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport Igor Borisov.

The A350-900 is the latest Airbus model. Moscow Domodedovo is the only airport in Russia handling flights operated by this type of aircraft regularly. Starting 1 August, Qatar Airways’ А350 will operate one of airline’s daily flights to Doha.

Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Qatar Airways have been cooperating since 2004, serving over 2 million passengers. Over the last fifteen years, the average annual growth rate of passenger traffic on the route has risen 15%. In 2017, the airline decided to increase flight frequency, opening a third daily flight from Moscow Domodedovo airport to Doha.
