Domodedovo Congratulates Ethiopian Airlines on Its 80th Anniversary
Domodedovo Airport congratulates its partner, the national carrier of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Ethiopian Airlines, on its 80th anniversary.
Ethiopian Airlines has been operating flights to Russia from Domodedovo International Airport since 2018, with flights to Addis Ababa Airport on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays (ET-761, departing at 21:30 Moscow time). From June 23rd, flights will also be available on Wednesdays. All flights are operated on Boeing 787 (Dreamliner).
According to the results of 2025, Ethiopia ranked 24th among the most popular outbound tourism destinations for Russians. Last year, the passenger flow from Russia amounted to almost 100,000 people.
"Domodedovo International Airport places a high priority on providing excellent passenger service and creating a comfortable travel environment. Together with Ethiopian Airlines, we offer a high level of service at every stage of the airport experience and provide convenient solutions for international flights," says Andrey Ivanov, General Director of Domodedovo International Airport.
By the end of 2026, Ethiopian Airlines plans to fly to Domodedovo on a daily basis and open "gates to Africa" for Russian tourists.
Passengers traveling with the airline on flights with a stopover in Addis Ababa can take advantage of a short-stay program at the Ethiopian capital. For flights with a flight time of 8 to 24 hours, free hotel accommodation with transfer is available, regardless of the availability of alternative flights with shorter waiting times.
"Domodedovo International Airport in Moscow has been a part of our history since 2018, and we are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate our 80th anniversary in this beautiful city," says the airline's General Manager for Russia and the CIS, Milkyas Assmamaw.
To honour the airline's anniversary, Domodedovo Airport has prepared sweet souvenirs for passengers - the "Student" pastry, as flights to Ethiopia are very popular not only among tourists, but also among students who come to Russia on student exchanges.
Ethiopian Airlines is the leading national carrier on the African continent, flying to 145 destinations worldwide, 65 of them in Africa. The company is one of the five largest airlines at Domodedovo.
