PREPARE FOR TRAVEL

Book your flight:

When booking flight, indicate that you are a passenger with special needs. It's the airline that makes the final decision whether it is able to carry a passenger with reduced mobility. We recommend that you book your flight in advance. It may happen that the airline is unable to take you on board because of the restrictions on the number of passengers requiring special attention during the flight.

If you need to cancel your booking, please inform the airline as soon as possible to make your seat available to other passengers with special needs.

Contact the airline:

Not later than 48 hours prior to departure contact the airline you are flying with and ask them to confirm that they are able to carry you.

Do not forget to confirm the following:

  • list of required documents (medical certificates and statements);
  • whether you are allowed to take with you medications on board and what documents are required (prescriptions, certificates);
  • if you need special medical equipment, inquire about it;
  • if you have difficulty breathing and need supplemental oxygen, inquire whether it can be provided by the airline during the flight.

Tell what kind of help you may need during the flight.

Give details of your health condition and whether you have any other serious conditions. . Indicate whether you are traveling accompanied or not. What kind of assistance you need during the flight (as a rule, the crew are unable to assist with taking in food, lifting, taking medication, and in the lavatory - if this kind of assistance is needed, you need to travel accompanied).

Let us know whether you are able to walk in the aircraft cabin or need to be provided with a special wheelchair during the flight.

If you are a wheelchair user:

The airline will likely ask for the specifications your wheelchair (type, dimensions, weight) and, if it is an electric wheelchair, battery type. Not all aircraft are adapted to transport wheelchairs equipped with batteries for reasons of aviation security.

If you are traveling unaccompanied, indicate whether you need someone to roll the wheelchair during the flight. Whether you are able to move yourself into and out of the wheelchair without assistance. Confirm whether the wheelchair can be taken into the cabin and, if this is not possible, the procedure for dropping it off as check-in baggage and claiming upon arrival at the destination airport.

For moving around the aircraft, airlines provide special wheelchairs, whose dimensions may differ from the ones you are used to.

Bedridden patients:

To confirm whether a bedridden patient can be transported on a stretcher, please contact your airline. You will need to provide additional details about the patient's condition and its seriousness, medical indications and special needs during the flight and to provide medical reports.

AT THE AIRPORT

Free parking

Our car parks offer FREE PARKING to people with disabilities.

Parking spaces closest to the Terminal are reserved for passengers with disabilities. Some of the parking spaces are equipped with barriers to keep them free. To get access to a dedicated parking space, call in a parking assistant. To do this:

  • contact the operator at the nearest automatic parking terminal;
  • or contact the car park supervisor at +7 916 509 52 93.

To leave the car park free of charge, contact the car park administrator (multi-level Parking P2 1st floor, office 1.3 or by calling the operator at the nearest automatic parking terminal).

Assistance racks

If you need assistance, you can at any time can contact the airport staff. Assistance racks for passengers with disabilities can be found:

  • at Entrance 3 (from the curbside);
  • at P3 parking near the payment terminals.

Check-in

Check-in passengers with reduced mobility is only available at the airport.
Advance check-in and online check-in are not possible.

Baggage

  • Unitary security rules for checked and cabin baggage apply.
  • Airline is responsible for your wheelchair;
  • Airport neither accepts wheelchairs for storage nor has any for hire.

Pre-flight security

Passengers with reduced mobility undergo manual security check. Accompanying persons go through the regular security check.

If you use a wheelchair, you will have to leave it for the time of the security screening so that it can be scanned. Our staff escorting passengers with disabilities will help you. Do not forget to request assistance to passengers with disabilities by calling (+7-495-933-66-66 (24/7)).

Boarding

Before boarding, passengers with disabilities are transferred to a narrower transport chair (provided by the airport) and taken to their seat on board the aircraft. After transfer to the transport chair, the passenger's wheelchair is handed over to the airline's agent who is responsible for its further handling. Wheelchair will loaded into the aircraft cargo hold.
